salad

This morning (friday) I had my usual big green juice while I made lunches, and later a cup of coffee while I dropped both kids off. This commute to both schools takes over an hour (and that's without walking Josefina inside). Then I went to Star and got lots of yummy greens and veggies and fruit. I am going to try juicing cantaloupe. I'll let you know how it tastes. I wasn't too crazy about the musk melon (although I finished it) so I don't think I'll buy that for juicing again.

On the way home I was craving a green salad. Now this is new. I can't remember ever craving salad at 10am. But here I am now, eating said salad. And typing.

I read recently about eating radish leaves. I've always thrown them away. So today I dug out my bunch of radishes from the fridge and the leaves were still perfect. Apparently you are supposed to separate the leaves from the radishes to make them last longer, anyway. I threw a bunch of green things in the salad spinner and washed it all.

My salad includes;
  • radish leaves, torn
  • arugula
  • dandelion greens, torn
  • basil leaves, torn
  • raw green beans, broken into pieces
  • moroccan olives
  • hemp seeds
  • grape tomatoes, cut in half
  • sprinkle Himalayan pink salt
  • drizzle olive oil
yu-um!!!!
